Ghost Hunting 101: Paranormal Research & Investigation
Learn about the existence of ghosts, types and reasons for hauntings, and how to investigate the paranormal through an engaging multifaceted workshop. Proper techniques and strategies are given to research haunted locations and gather the necessary information before, during, and after the investigation. S.O.P. members explain the realities of paranormal investigation and share examples from past experiences. The audience is then separated into groups to visit “Tools Tables,” where SOP members go into more detail about the paranormal theories and how to use related equipment. The workshop concludes with a Q&A session.
Haunted Long Island
The history of Long Island is explored with tales of local haunted spots and urban legends as audience members "investigate" these locations through a multimedia virtual tour. Several notable local legends included and discussed: Amityville Horror House, Hanging Tree, Mt. Misery, Lake Ronkonkoma, Kings Park Psychiatric Center, Sagtikos Manor, and Katie’s Bar. Audience members will listen to previously recorded related interviews with past guests (e.g. owner of Katie’s Bar) from our radio show, as well as, review audio and photographic evidence gathered from investigations of these local residential, commercial, private, and urban spots. The presentation concludes with a Q&A session.
